Who is Mrs. Weavil?
Mrs. Allison Weavil is a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from PC and a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Science Concentration from UNC-G. Mrs. Weavil began her teaching career at West Forsyth High School in August of 1999. After fourteen years of teaching, she transferred to East Forsyth High School in August of 2013. She teaches biology and honors biology. On a personal note, Mrs. Weavil is married, and she has an 9 year old little girl.
Homework Expectations
Written homework will be assigned approximately 2 to 3 times per week, and completion of these assignments is crucial to students' success in biology. On days that written homework is not assigned, Mrs. Weavil expects her students to review notes in preparation for upcoming tests. Use the calendar link to find out about specific assignments. The calendar is subject to change. The classroom documents link provides copies of some homework assignments. If you are absent, feel free to check the calendar and/or classroom documents link to find out what you are missing. It is always a good idea to read the pages in your textbook that correspond with the topics that are covered in class.
Materials Needed
Please bring the following materials to class each day: a 3-ring binder notebook, notebook paper, a pencil and colored pencils. Donated tissues, paper towels and disinfecting wipes are always welcome.
A Note To Parents/Guardians
A class guideline and a syllabus will be provided for students on the first day of the new school year. These provide rules, expectations, and grading procedures. Both of these documents may be accessed through the classroom documents link (once the school year begins). Parents are highly encouraged to use the parent assistant module which allows access to students' updated grades.
Mrs. Weavil updates grades approximately once per week. If you are the parent or guardian of a student, feel free to contact Mrs. Weavil by e-mail or by phone.
Mrs. Weavil is available for one-on-one tutoring/extra help several days each week. The days and times that she is available will be posted on the board in her classroom; these days/times will vary from week to week so you are encouraged to check on a weekly basis to verify the appropriate days/times.
