Interdisciplinary artist John Simms will present a series of multi-media projects that traverse the magical spaces where mathematics meets the creative languages of the arts. His talk will explore ethnomathematics and will feature his newest completed project, "Square Roots: A Quilted Manifesto", a collection of mathematical art quilts created based on the visualization of the number pi, Pythagorean mathematics and African textiles. Simms will also demonstrate math/art dresses as a musical score of pi mapped into the key of B-flat and as a 12 bar blues composition performed by the famed musician Kenny Drew Jr.

PRIMARY CHRISTMAS COW cow

As an appreciation of all we have, Dr. Hudgins' calculus classes looked for a way to share our abundance. Since we study "COWCULUS", we decided to buy a cow. We raised approximately $100 to donate to the World Vision Organization to help purchase a diary cow for a struggling family.
