TIPS FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS:
There has never been as exciting a time to study US History! The changes and challenges we face in America and the world are making history, and as we study elections, the 1920s, the Great Depression, and the civil rights movement we hear their echoes today. So watch, listen, and read the news!
Movies are also an excellent way to bring the content of our curriculum to life. To see a partial list of US History related movies, see the classroom information page. Remember, many of these movies require parental consent. We strongly suggest parents and students watch these movies together and discuss them. Mrs. Smith-Martin's students can ask for a form to fill out about these movies and can watch three per semester (9 weeks block; 18 weeks year-long) for extra credit.
The Pacing Guide and Class Procedures for these classes are also available under the documents page. Please remember that the pacing guide is always subject to change.
