The goal of the Parkland Magnet High School Choral program is to provide the best music education possible for its students and to instill in its members the understanding that music provides lifelong enrichment that is not experienced in any other course of study. Music is unique among all other subjects taught at school. Through music, a person can achieve an understanding of beauty and creativity, a sense of family within the group, and an improved self-image.

                At Parkland, music is taught as an academic discipline through a performance curriculum. Chorus classes will perform at various times during the school year, and will have the opportunity to perform in festivals and competitions. These performances will enable the Parkland Choral program to experience continued growth while gaining a superior reputation across the community, state, and nation.

                This year, there are many opportunities for students within the Choral program. You will also be able to explore extra-curricular activities such as the All-School Musical, All County Chorus, All State Chorus, N.C. Honors Chorus, and other choral festivals across the state.

                  It is my belief that with hard work, determination, practice and a superior attitude, each member of the Parkland Magnet High School Choral Program will improve as a musician and a person, and that the entire Choral program and school will benefit by this improvement.
